This is our house. It's a great house in a wonderful neighborhood. We built it in 2005 and have lived in it for 10 years. We've raised two children,10 dogs, and 2 cats here. We've seen 10 Halloweens, 10 Christmases, 10 New Years, 10 St. Patty's Days, 10 Easters, 10 4th of Julys, and 40 birthdays. We've laughed in this house, we've cried in this house, we've celebrated in this house, and we've mourned in this house. It has been the center of our family for a long time.
On June 1, 2015 my husband of 27 years will retire and we are going to begin updating and upgrading the house. This is the first house we had built and when we began the process we had no idea of everything that was involved in creating it. We just wanted to get in it. As a result you could say our house is "builder's grade". A lot of the things we are going to be replacing: molding, doors, carpet, fixtures, cabinetry, counter tops, and appliances are the same ones you will find in dozens of houses that were constructed at the same time ours was. We want to make the house unique, put in our own personal touches, and make it ours. This blog is going to chronicle our journey. Check back often to see what we are doing and even vote on some of the changes we want to make.
